There is excellent birding in
Margaree and generally all over Cape Breton Island. There is a lot
of prime habitat; the Margaree river and its tributaries, the valleys
surrounding, ocean-going species and marsh-dwellers. From the plentitude
of Bald Eagles and Hawks to the variety of other species, to the rare
local sighting of a Painted Bunting, you can keep yourself well occupied
here. We've listed some of the prime sites for information relevant
to the Margaree area, as well as links to other Cape Breton Birding
sites.
There are also organized photography trips out of Margaree into the National Park, which offer an excellent opportunity to capture the birds in their habitat over an extended period of time. |
